RUTH
Ruth is an old idea, realized in an entirely new style - a skin-on-frame rowing wherry.
Named after both of my Grandmothers, RUTH is a compromise between the all out
speed of a racing scull, and the seaworthiness of large traditional rowing craft such as
Dories, Whitehalls and Peapods. Her SOF construction ensures that she's half the
weight, and takes a third of the time to build as conventional wooden or fiberglass
wherries - while retaining all of their performance and capability.
RUTH is suitable for both sliding seat and fixed thwart rowing, and is capable of taking
a passenger. RUTH is 18' long, has a 33" beam, weighs just 45lbs, and is perfect for
solo car-toppingby just about anyone.
